Lynn Vaughan, LMT

With the gift of her grandmother's sage words, Lynn Vaughan, L.M.T., a fourth generation equestrianne and animal lover, has had a private practice in animal bodywork, based in Pound Ridge, NY, since 1988. Lynn is a New York State licensed massage therapist and former holistic veteri-nary assistant. She and colleague Deborah Jones, L.M.T. assisted the renowned John Limehouse, D.V.M. in No. Hollywood, CA.Lynn works with all animals, with a primary focus on dogs and horses, ranging from companions to competitors to service dogs. She combines a variety of holistic health and bodywork techniques, i.e. massage, acupressure, energywork, physical therapy and nonverbal communication to enhance their health, quality of life and performance -and to facilitate human/animal communication and understanding.

Teaching bodywork and awareness techniques is an integral part of Lynn's practice. She and Deborah Jones were foundation staff members for Wiz Kid Dog Camp, a camp for the canine athlete. They prepared dog/handler teams for multi-sport training with warm-up, cool-down and injury prevention sessions in collaboration with M. Christine Zink, D.V.M., Ph.D. Lynn will also be returning for her second year of teaching these methods at Splash Camp, a canine water sports camp in Monroe, CT.

Lynn has taught canine bodywork and awareness techniques to guide dog users at Guiding Eyes for The Blind, Yorktown Heights, NY since 1991. She has also developed a body-work program for puppies, from birth through adulthood, which is used at GEB's breeding center.
