Virginia Broitman has been involved in dog training since 1981, and is endorsed by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors. Her business, North Star Canines, provides behavior counseling, group classes, private lessons, and occasional Assistance Dog training. Virginia also volunteers with local animal rescue groups, evaluating dogs and providing training support to foster homes and adoptive families. She also writes training articles for NADOI's "Forward" magazine and "The Clicker Journal."

Virginia has produced two clicker/trick training videos, Take a Bow.Wow! (co-produced with S. Lippman) and Bow Wow Take 2. Her dogs have participated in a variety of activities, including pet therapy visits, agility competitions, and TV/advertising work. They include a Lab mix, Shepherd mix, Cattle Dog, Ridgeback, Papillon and Border Collie. Her others pets include two cats and two rats.
