Dee Blanco, DVM

Dr. Dee Blanco has a bachelor’s degree in biology from New Mexico State University and received my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1981 from Colorado State University. The first 7 years, she practiced both small and large animal mixed practices using only allopathic medicine and techniques. It wasn’t until her own illness in 1987 and the unproductive use of customary steroid treatments did she, in desperation, turn to “other” medicines. Then she found homeopathy. It was love at first dose and she knew she finally found the medicine she had been searching for to use with the animals.

During the last 12 years, her studies have been with numerous accomplished human and veterinary homeopaths. She received her certification veterinary homeopathy in 1993 under the direction of Dr Richard Pitcairn. She considers herself a HOLISTIC practitioner because she uses any and all information from the physical, emotional/behavioral or spiritual realm to find the appropriate medicine. This includes the incorporation of the human-animal bond/relationship in the healing process. She considers this type of medicine to be “complementary” not because it complements allopathic medicine, but because it complements the bodies’ own healing responses. Additionally, she received her certification in veterinary acupuncture in 1991. Other adjunctive therapies include the use of native herbs, nutritional supplements and fresh food diets to provide a foundation for healing.
